Hockey for Beginners
The Timbits Initiation Program is a structured, learn-to-play hockey program designed to introduce young players to the game’s basic skills in an atmosphere of fun and fair play. It is the basis from which Canadians get their start in hockey by having fun, learning skills, and developing confidence.
This program is the first introduction to hockey fundamentals. Participants will be on the ice twice a week for approximately 40 minutes per session. On ice instruction will include skating skills, hockey fundamentals, and game situations depending on the skill level of the participants.

Location: Pete Palangio Arena
Note: Participants require CSA approved protective hockey equipment

As a new member to Hockey Canada you must create a new Hockey Canada ID. Please complete the following before starting your registration:
- As your child is new to minor hockey, one of the parents must complete the Respect in Sport - Parent Program. This will create a Hockey Canada member number for your child which you will require to register with us. You can complete the course here.
