Head Rep Coach
The North Bay Minor Hockey Association is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of Head Rep Coach for the 2021-2022 season. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and support in all areas of player and coach development to our rep teams.
Head Coach Duties
- To lead the coach selection committee in the selection of Rep coaches
- To work alongside the convener and team coaches in player selection at tryouts
- Meet with each head coach prior to the season to review/discuss their season plan. The Head Rep Coach will assist in establishing skill development objectives, practice plans, tournaments selection, resources etc.…
- Ongoing mentorship/communication with coaches. Participate twice monthly in team activities be it practices and/or games.
- Report to the board of directors as needed
Other Key Attributes:
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults
- A passion for hockey, youth and development
- Cooperative leadership style and ability to be innovative and provide vision
- A strong understanding and knowledge of the Long-Term Athlete Development Model (LTAD) & Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development Model (LTPD)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of coaching experience
- high-performance level 1 is an asset
- An understanding of players needs at all levels: Novice (U9) to Midget (U18)
- Successful past experience as a Head Coach and/or Development Coach
- Previous successful high-performance coaching and playing experience is an asset
- Previous experience as a people manager is an asset
- Ability to work with volunteers in a team environment
- Police check
Renumeration:
The Head Rep Coach will be a paid position. Renumeration based on experience
